What are stuffed crust pizza wraps?
I make these Stuffed Crust Pizza Wraps as a quick, cheesy twist on pizza using a tortilla wrap instead of traditional dough. They’re filled with sauce, cheese, and toppings, with a fun stuffed cheese crust made from cheese strings. It’s one of my favourite easy air fryer recipes when I want something fast, cheesy, and satisfying.
Can I cook pizza wraps in the air fryer?
Yes — I always cook these in the air fryer and they come out perfectly crisp. This is one of my go-to air fryer pizza wrap recipes because the air fryer melts the cheese and crisps the wrap in just minutes, giving that proper pizza-style finish without needing an oven.
How long do air fryer pizza wraps take to cook?
In my air fryer, these pizza wraps take around 8 minutes at 170°C. I check them halfway through to make sure they’re browning evenly. It’s a really quick option for air fryer lunch ideas or a last-minute snack.
Can I use any wrap for air fryer pizza wraps?
Yes, I usually use a large tortilla wrap because it folds easily and holds the filling well. I find thicker wraps work best for air fryer pizza recipes, as they hold up to the cheese and toppings without going soggy.
What fillings can I use in air fryer pizza wraps?
I switch it up depending on what I’ve got. I often do a BBQ chicken version or a pepperoni version, but you can use anything you’d normally put on pizza. It’s a really flexible recipe and perfect for easy air fryer recipes at home.
How do I make the stuffed crust in a pizza wrap?
I use cheese strings and place them along the edge of the wrap, then fold and secure them with a cocktail stick to create a sealed crust. It melts inside the air fryer, giving that gooey stuffed crust pizza effect in an air fryer pizza wrap.
Can I make air fryer pizza wraps ahead of time?
I prefer to make them fresh because they’re best when hot and crispy. However, I sometimes prep the fillings ahead of time to make it quicker when I want a fast air fryer lunch idea.
Are air fryer pizza wraps healthy?
I wouldn’t call them a health food, but I do think they’re a lighter alternative to takeaway pizza. Because they’re cooked in the air fryer, they use less oil, making them a better option for quick air fryer meals and easy lunch ideas.
Can I reheat pizza wraps in the air fryer?
Yes, I reheat leftovers in the air fryer for a few minutes and they crisp up nicely again. It’s much better than the microwave and keeps the wrap from going soggy.
Why cook pizza wraps in the air fryer instead of the oven?
I prefer the air fryer because it’s quicker, crispier, and easier to clean up. It makes this one of my favourite easy air fryer pizza recipes when I want something fast without waiting for an oven to heat up.
Are air fryer pizza wraps good for lunch?
Definitely — I often make these as a quick air fryer lunch idea because they’re filling, cheesy, and ready in under 10 minutes. They’re perfect when I want something more exciting than a sandwich but still quick and easy. For more air fryer lunch ideas you can read my blog!
