The Tandoori Marinade for Air Fryer Chicken Skewers
This tandoori marinade is bursting with flavour and is incredibly easy to make. I created it on the fly and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious result! Hereâs a straightforward list of ingredients youâll need to prepare this flavourful marinade for your air fryer kebabs:
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 heaped tbsp yogurt
- 1 tbsp tomato purée
- 1 tbsp garlic purée
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp oil
- Juice of a lemon
- 1 tsp red food colouring (completely optional)
This marinade not only infuses the chicken with rich flavours but also helps to keep it tender and juicy when cooked in the air fryer.
Can I Use Wooden Skewers in the Air Fryer?
Yes, you can use wooden skewers in your air fryer. However, itâs essential to soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before use. This prevents them from burning during the cooking process. Using wooden skewers is a great way to create delicious air fryer chicken skewers that are easy to handle and serve.
Can I Use Metal Skewers in the Air Fryer?
Absolutely! Metal skewers are perfectly safe to use in the air fryer. They conduct heat well, which can help cook your air fryer kebabs evenly. Plus, they are reusable and environmentally friendly. Just ensure they fit comfortably in your air fryer basket. Here is a link to the metal skewers I use when cooking air fryer skewers.
My Recommended Air Fryer for Perfect Skewers
My go-to air fryer for making air fryer chicken skewers is the Ninja Megazone. Not only does it make the chicken nice and crispy, but it cooks quickly and efficiently without the need for preheating.
