Can I cook chicken skewers in the air fryer?

Yes, chicken skewers are perfect for the air fryer. They cook quickly, stay juicy inside, and develop a lovely char on the outside – ideal for easy chicken recipes.

What temperature should I cook chicken skewers in the air fryer?

Cook your garlic parmesan chicken skewers at 200°C for 12–15 minutes, turning halfway. Always ensure the chicken is cooked through and juices run clear.

Do I need to soak wooden skewers before air frying?

Yes – if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 20 minutes before cooking to stop them from burning in the air fryer.

Can I use metal skewers in the air fryer?

Absolutely – metal skewers are reusable and safe for use in the air fryer, just make sure they fit your basket or drawer.

How do I get the garlic parmesan coating to stick?

Toss the chicken in a little olive oil or melted butter, then coat with a mixture of grated parmesan, garlic granules, and herbs. The fat helps the coating crisp and stick during air frying.

Is this recipe suitable for meal prep or batch cooking?

Yes – the chicken can be marinated ahead of time and stored in the fridge overnight. Leftover skewers can also be eaten cold or reheated.

What should I serve with garlic parmesan skewers?

These air fryer chicken skewers go perfectly with salads, flatbreads, rice, or pasta. For a fakeaway feel, serve with garlic mayo or spicy dip.

You can swap the parmesan for a dairy-free hard cheese alternative, and use a plant-based butter or oil for coating.
