Can you cook beef kebabs in the air fryer?
Air fryer beef kebabs are quick, juicy and full of flavour. Cooking them in the air fryer gives the outside a lovely golden finish while keeping the beef tender inside. This recipe cooks the kebabs at 180°C for 20 minutes, turning halfway through.
How long do you cook beef kebabs in the air fryer?
These beef kebabs take around 20 minutes at 180°C in the air fryer. Turn them halfway through so they cook evenly and become nicely browned on both sides. Always make sure the beef is fully cooked before serving.
What is the best beef for air fryer kebabs?
This recipe uses beef mince, making the kebabs soft, juicy and packed with flavour. Lean beef mince works well and mixes easily with herbs, garlic and spices.
Can I make these beef kebabs ahead of time?
Yes. You can prepare the beef mixture up to 24 hours in advance and keep it covered in the fridge. When you’re ready, assemble the kebabs and cook them in the air fryer.
Can I freeze air fryer beef kebabs?
Yes. Freeze the uncooked beef mixture or the cooked kebabs for up to 3 months. Defrost overnight in the fridge before reheating or cooking.
What can I serve with air fryer beef kebabs?
These beef kebabs are delicious with:
- Air fryer chips
- Rice
- Flatbreads or pittas
- Garlic yoghurt
- Salad
- Homemade coleslaw
- Roasted vegetables
They make a great family dinner or easy fakeaway.
Can I use different seasonings?
Absolutely. If you don’t have the Bored of Lunch Goes on Everything Seasoning, try onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, cumin, oregano and black pepper. You can easily adjust the spice level to suit your taste.
Do I need to flip the kebabs in the air fryer?
Yes. Turning the kebabs halfway through cooking helps them brown evenly and cook right through.
Can I use metal or wooden skewers?
Both work well. If you’re using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before cooking to help prevent them from scorching. Metal skewers can go straight into the air fryer if they fit your basket.
Why are my beef kebabs dry?
Dry kebabs are usually caused by overcooking or using very lean beef. Mixing the mince with onion, pepper and olive oil helps keep the kebabs juicy. Cook only until the beef is fully cooked, then brush with the garlic chilli butter for even more flavour.
