Method

Step 1

Begin by cutting the halloumi cheese into bite-sized cubes, ensuring they are evenly sized for consistent cooking.

Step 2

In separate bowls, prepare a coating station for the halloumi. Place flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs in three separate bowls. This coating process adds a delightful crunch to the halloumi.

Step 3

Take each halloumi cube and first coat it lightly in flour, then dip it into the beaten egg, and finally, roll it in breadcrumbs until evenly coated. This step ensures a crispy texture when air-fried.

Step 4

Air fry the halloumi cubes for approximately 11 minutes at 190ºC (375ºF) or until they are golden brown and crispy. Be sure to check halfway through and shake the basket for even cooking.

Step 5

While the halloumi is cooking, prepare the honey chili sauce mix. In a small bowl, combine honey and chilli sauce to create a sweet and spicy glaze that will complement the halloumi perfectly.

Step 6

Sprinkle sesame seeds, and serve. This recipe is perfect as a side, or small sharing dish. For more healthy low calorie air fryer recipes take a look at The Healthy Air Fryer Book.
