I’m proud to be from Belfast, and let me tell you, our food scene is absolutely buzzing right now. The power of social media these days have been a complete game-changer for our hospitality and tourism industry here in Northern Ireland.
During lockdown, I decided to dive into the world of food blogging, and I’m so glad I did (I’m now a best selling author… and still don’t think it’s real). I truly am so lucky to have some fantastic eateries right at my doorstep. So without further ado, here are some of my favourite restaurants, eateries and places to eat in Belfast.

From the trendy, hipster vibes of Neighbourhood to the nutritious offerings of Juice Jar, there’s something to satisfy every craving. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty traditional breakfast or leaning towards a lighter, healthier option, Belfast’s breakfast scene promises a delightful start to your day.
The Pocket, Belfast
If you’re looking for Brunch in Belfast, the Pocket has it all – located in the Flat Iron Building, tucked behind the famous Bittles Bar on Upper Church Lane. A friendly vibe, tasty food, and a sunny outdoor seating area that’s great for hanging out with family. They whip up breakfast, brunch, and lunch using local ingredients, so you know it’s gonna be good. And their coffee? Unreal.
Neighbourhood Cafe, Belfast
Taking brunch to the next level. Neighbourhood is a must-visit for coffee lovers and brunch enthusiasts. Their coffee is fantastic, and they’re always serving up something fresh and exciting with their ever-changing menus. Located in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter, you can expect a warm welcome and excellent customer service at Neighbourhood. Their Eggs Benny and Turkish Eggs are a must try.
Brew & Bake, Belfast
The BEST cinnamon rolls in Belfast. Since September 2018, Brew & Bake have been delighting customers with their delicious bakes and brunches on the Lisburn Road. Now, with a second location opened in February 2024 just minutes away, they’ve expanded their offerings. Their original café at 336 Lisburn Road has transformed into a bakery, where they continue to craft their famous cinnamon rolls and other amazing treats. Meanwhile, their new spot at 489 Lisburn Road is dedicated to brunch, serving up delicious dishes until 3pm daily. This split setup allows them to focus on their two passions: baking and brunching.
Juice Jar, Belfast
Founded in September 2019, Juice Jar stands as a unique fusion of a Coffee Shop and Juice Bar, offering a refreshing blend of experience, cleanliness, and health-focused options. With three locations in Belfast, they are known for their famous Acai Bowl, packed with antioxidants and omega oils, and made in-store without any additives or preservatives.

One of my absolute favourites… the beef cheek dish is just outstanding. EDŌ is a laid-back dining affair, indulging in the finest flavours sourced from across Europe. The restaurant’s award-winning proprietors, Jonny and Charlotte, infuse each dish with a wealth of culinary expertise gained from their extensive tenure in kitchens throughout Europe, including stints with renowned chefs like Gordon Ramsay and Gary Rhodes.
Ox, Belfast
In March 2013, two lifelong friends, each deeply passionate about their craft and eager to make a mark on Belfast’s dining scene, joined forces to launch OX, overlooking the River Lagan. The menus are meticulously crafted around the freshest seasonal produce available. As a result, every dish that emerges from their kitchen is a masterpiece, with each element playing a vital role in showcasing the very best of what today’s larder has to offer.

Villa Italia is a family run pizzeria restaurant established in 1988 in the heart of South Belfast, just a stones throw from Queen’s University. A listed Georgian building, its success as one of Belfast’s most popular eateries with over 300 seats continues to grow and is obvious by the queues which form on a regular basis outside the door every weekend – rain, hail or snow! Inside you can enjoy the rustic Italian charm of our interiors; picturesque murals, terracotta tiles, hanging grapevines, the subtle smell of garlic in the air (my fave).
