Are these strawberry ice lollies suitable for children?

Absolutely – these homemade ice lollies are made with fresh strawberries and natural ingredients, making them perfect for kids. They’re free from artificial colours and flavours, and a great low-sugar alternative to shop-bought options.

Do I need an ice lolly mould to make this recipe?

While an ice lolly mould gives the best shape, you can also use small yoghurt pots or paper cups with lolly sticks if you don’t have one. Just pop them in the freezer until set.

Can I make these strawberry ice lollies without refined sugar?

Yes – you can sweeten the mixture naturally using honey, agave syrup, or even a ripe banana. This makes them a great choice for healthier snacking and kid-friendly recipes.

How long do homemade ice lollies take to freeze?

Most homemade ice lollies take around 4–6 hours to fully freeze, but leaving them overnight gives the best result.

Can I use frozen strawberries instead of fresh?

Definitely – frozen strawberries work just as well. Just allow them to thaw slightly or blend from frozen if your blender is powerful enough.

How long do these homemade lollies keep in the freezer?

They’ll stay fresh in the freezer for up to 1 month – just store them in a sealed container or freezer-safe bag to avoid freezer burn.

Are these lollies dairy-free and vegan?

They can be! Just skip any dairy-based ingredients and use plant-based sweeteners. They’re naturally vegan if you use maple or agave syrup instead of honey.

Can I mix in other fruits?

Yes – try adding raspberries, mango or pineapple for a twist. It’s a great way to get kids involved with their own flavour combos.

Method

Step 1

Blend your strawberries with Greek yogurt and honey

Step 2

Pour the mixture into your lolly moulds and freeze for 4-6 hours (or overnight like I did)

Step 3

Once frozen, remove the ice lollies from the moulds and enjoy 😊

Step 4

Note, if you’re vegan or prefer blant based, you can swap out the Greek yogurt for coconut yogurt or any plant-based alternative. Link to the ice lolly mould is right here.
