What are the Best Cuts of Steak for Air Fryer Steak Bowls – Ribeye, Sirloin, or Fillet?
The best cuts of steak for air fryer steak bowls depend on your preference. You can choose from:
Ribeye – Highly marbled and flavourful. Best cooked to medium or medium-rare.
Sirloin – Offering a good balance of flavour and affordability. Works well for quick air fryer cooking.
Fillet– A leaner cut with bold beefy flavour, best sliced thin against the grain after cooking.
For the best results, let the steak rest after air frying to retain its juices before slicing for your chimichurri steak bowl.
How to Season Steak for Air Fryer Steak Bowls
For a perfect chimichurri steak bowl, season your steak properly:
Basic Seasoning – Salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika for a classic flavour.
Marinade Option – Olive oil, minced garlic, lime juice, and fresh herbs for added tenderness.
Dry Rub Option – A blend of cumin, chilli powder, and coriander for a smoky depth.
Let It Rest – Allow the steak to sit with the seasoning for at least 15-30 minutes before air frying.
Pair your air-fried steak with fresh chimichurri sauce to elevate the dish with zesty, herby goodness.
How Long to Cook Steak in the Air Fryer?
The cooking time depends on the steak cut, thickness, and desired doneness:
- 1-inch thick steak: Cook at 200°C (400°F) for 8-10 minutes (flip halfway).
- 1.5-inch thick steak: Increase cooking time to 12-14 minutes for medium doneness.
- Steak bites: Cook at 200°C (400°F) for 5-7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway.
- Frozen steak: Increase time by 5 minutes while maintaining the same temperature
Always let the steak rest for 5 minutes after cooking to keep it juicy.
