Can I cook salmon in the air fryer for a poke bowl?

Yes, cooking salmon in the air fryer is quick and easy. It results in perfectly tender, flaky salmon with a lovely slightly crispy exterior, ideal for poke bowls.

How do I make teriyaki salmon in the air fryer?

Marinate the salmon in teriyaki sauce, then cook in the air fryer at around 180°C for 8–10 minutes, depending on thickness, until cooked through and caramelised.

What type of salmon is best for this recipe?

Use fresh, skin-on salmon fillets if possible. Skin-on helps keep the fish moist during cooking and adds extra flavour and texture.

Can I use frozen salmon in the air fryer?

Yes, you can cook frozen salmon in the air fryer. Add a few extra minutes to the cooking time, and it’s best to marinate after it has thawed slightly or use pre-marinated frozen portions.

What should I include in a poke bowl?

Typical poke bowl ingredients include rice or salad base, fresh vegetables, seaweed, avocado, edamame, and pickled ginger. The teriyaki salmon is the star protein topping.

Is this recipe healthy?

Yes, this poke bowl is a balanced, nutritious meal packed with omega-3 from salmon, fibre from veggies, and complex carbs if you use brown rice or quinoa as the base.

Can I prepare this recipe in advance?

You can prepare the rice and vegetables ahead, but it’s best to cook the salmon fresh in the air fryer just before serving to keep it moist and flaky.

Can I adjust the teriyaki sauce to be gluten-free?

Yes, use a gluten-free soy sauce or tamari in your teriyaki marinade to make this dish suitable for gluten-free diets.

How do I keep the salmon moist in the air fryer?

Don’t overcook the salmon and keep the temperature moderate (around 180°C). The marinade helps lock in moisture and adds flavour.
