After seeing Raising Canes blow up all over TikTok and Instagram, I had to try it during my trip to America. It’s safe to say the hype was real – but honestly, it left me wondering if I could recreate something similar at home… and maybe even better.

So I did just that.

Introducing the ultimate fakeaway: air fryer chicken tenders inspired by Raising Canes, complete with that famous tangy Cane’s sauce and buttery homemade Texas toast. It’s crispy, juicy, and ridiculously easy to make—no deep-frying needed. Whether you’ve never tried the original or just want a healthier homemade version, this Raising Canes chicken tenders fakeaway is one you have to try.

What Makes Raising Canes Chicken Tenders So Special?

Raising Canes chicken tenders are known for their signature golden-brown crust and tender, juicy interior. The chain keeps things simple: no complex menu, just high-quality chicken with a perfect crunch, buttery toast, crinkle-cut fries, and that iconic Cane’s dipping sauce.

Our air fryer fakeaway captures the heart of this fan-favourite dish—with a few healthier twists. You still get that ultra-satisfying crispiness without the mess or calories of deep frying. Plus, it’s quick, affordable, and ideal for a midweek meal, weekend treat, or feeding the family.

What Is Texas Toast and How Do I Make It?

Texas toast is thick-sliced white bread, slathered in garlic butter and toasted until golden. You can make it easily in the air fryer or pan-fry it:

  • Spread both sides of each slice with garlic butter.
  • Air fry at 180°C (350°F) for 3–4 minutes or pan-fry until golden brown.
  • It’s the perfect sidekick to your air fryer chicken tenders fakeaway.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this with chicken breast instead of tenders?

Yes! Just slice chicken breasts into strips. Chicken thighs also work if you prefer a juicier texture.

Can I freeze the tenders?

Yes – after coating, freeze the raw tenders on a baking tray. Once frozen, store in freezer bags. Cook from frozen in the air fryer, adding 3–4 extra minutes.

Are air fryer chicken tenders healthier than fried?

Definitely. Using the air fryer slashes the oil content, making this fakeaway much lighter without sacrificing crunch or flavour.

What if I don’t have buttermilk?

Mix regular milk with 1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar and let it sit for 5–10 minutes. Instant buttermilk!

Why Choose Air Fryer for Chicken Tenders?

Air frying offers a healthier alternative to deep-frying while maintaining that coveted crispy texture. With minimal oil and quick cooking times, you’ll have delicious chicken tenders ready in minutes. The circulating hot air ensures even cooking and a perfectly crisp exterior that will have everyone coming back for more.
