What Is A Spice Bag?
A spice bag is a popular fast food dish originating from Ireland, particularly renowned in Chinese takeaways. It’s basically a take on the UK’s ‘Salt and Pepper Chicken’ which consists of crispy fried chicken pieces tossed with chips (fries), sautĂ©ed vegetables like onions and peppers, and a mix of spices that often includes salt, chilli flakes, and Chinese five-spice. The dish is usually served in a paper bag, which keeps everything warm and allows the flavours to meld together beautifully. Spice bags have gained a cult following due to their delicious combination of textures and flavours, making them a favourite takeaway option for many.
Is Salted Chilli Chicken Spicy?
Yes, Salted Chilli Chicken does have a spicy kick to it. The level of heat can vary depending on the amount of chilli used in the recipe. Typically, fresh chillies or dried chilli flakes are added to give the dish its signature flavour. However, you can easily adjust the spiciness to suit your taste preferences. If you prefer milder flavours, simply reduce the amount of chilli or use less spicy varieties. Overall, the combination of salt and chilli creates a deliciously balanced dish that is sure to satisfy those who enjoy a bit of heat in their meals.
