Can you make crostini in the air fryer?

Yes! The air fryer is perfect for crostini, giving the bread a golden, crispy texture in just 3–5 minutes at 180°C. It’s quicker than using the oven and saves on energy too.

What bread is best for crostini?

A baguette or ciabatta sliced thinly works best. You want something sturdy enough to hold the toppings but still light and crisp after air frying.

Do I need to use oil on the bread before air frying?

Yes, brushing the bread lightly with olive oil helps it crisp up evenly and adds great flavour. You can also rub it with garlic before or after air frying for extra taste.

Can I air fry tomatoes for this recipe?

Absolutely. Cherry tomatoes or baby plum tomatoes work well in the air fryer. Roast them with a bit of oil, salt, and garlic for burst tomatoes that are sweet, juicy, and perfect on crostini.

What is burrata and how is it different from mozzarella?

Burrata is a soft Italian cheese made from mozzarella and cream. It has a creamy centre that pairs beautifully with crispy bread and roasted tomatoes, adding a luxurious texture to this dish.

Is this a good air fryer starter or party appetiser?

Yes, these burrata crostini make a perfect starter, canapé or party snack, and using the air fryer makes them quicker to prepare in batches.

Can I make this crostini recipe ahead of time?

You can prep the roasted tomatoes and slice the bread ahead, but for best results, air fry and assemble just before serving so the bread stays crisp and the burrata is fresh.
