Can I put raw pork straight into the slow cooker?
Yes, you can add raw pork directly to the slow cooker. It will cook gently over several hours, becoming tender and flavourful as it absorbs the satay sauce.
What cut of pork is best for satay noodles in the slow cooker?
Pork shoulder or pork loin steaks work best. They become tender during slow cooking and shred easily into the sauce, perfect for a satay-style noodle dish.
Can I use crunchy or smooth peanut butter for the satay sauce?
Either works, but smooth peanut butter gives the best consistency for the sauce. Crunchy adds texture if you prefer a bit of bite in your satay noodles.
When should I add the noodles?
To avoid mushy noodles, add them in the final 15ā20 minutes of cooking. Use straight-to-wok noodles or pre-cooked rice noodles for ease.
Can I make this a bit spicier or milder?
Absolutely. Add chilli flakes, sriracha, or fresh red chilli if you like it hot. To keep it mild, skip the heat and use just the satay sauce base.
Is this pork satay noodle recipe suitable for meal prep?
Yes ā it reheats well and makes a brilliant fakeaway-style lunch or midweek dinner. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Can I freeze pork satay noodles?
You can freeze the pork and sauce portion before adding the noodles. Add fresh noodles when reheating for the best texture.
What vegetables go well in this slow cooker noodle dish?
You can add peppers, mangetout, carrots, or baby corn either at the beginning (for softer veg) or in the last 30 minutes (for crunch).
How long should I cook this for?
Cook on low for 6ā7 hours or high for 3ā4 hours. Add the noodles near the end so they donāt overcook.
What makes this a great fakeaway option?
Itās rich, satisfying, and packed with takeaway-style flavour ā but made healthier at home, with simple ingredients and no hidden oils or sugar. A real midweek treat without the cost or calories of a takeaway.
This recipe is a brilliant blend of comforting noodles, tender pork, and creamy satay sauce ā all made easily in the slow cooker. Ideal for busy evenings, batch cooking, and fakeaway cravings! Looking for more slow cooker fakeaway recipes? Visit www.boredoflunch.com.
