Why Use a Slow Cooker for Hot Chocolate?
Using a slow cooker for hot chocolate offers several benefits. It allows you to prepare a large batch without constant stirring, making it perfect for parties or family gatherings. The slow cooking process helps the flavours meld together beautifully, resulting in a deep, rich taste. Plus, it keeps your hot chocolate warm for hours, so you can serve it whenever your guests are ready.
Tips for Achieving the Perfect Hot Chocolate Consistency
- Give it a stir every 30 minutes to ensure everything mixes well and prevents burning at the bottom.
- If you prefer a thicker hot chocolate, add more chocolate or reduce the amount of milk slightly.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if needed.
Customisation Ideas For Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate
Feel free to personalise your hot chocolate! Here are some ideas:
- Use your favourite chocolate or even leftover Christmas chocolate (if you have any!)
- Try adding vanilla extract or a pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth.
- Top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or even crushed biscuits for added texture.
- Make it non-alcoholic, by skipping the Baileys and replacing it with cream and a dash of vanilla syrup/extract.

Method
Step 1
Pop your Lindt chocolate into the slow cooker along with 250ml Baileys and 1 litre of milk. You can use any milk here, but for that nice creaminess I opted for whole milk.
Step 2
Slow cook for 2 hours on high and give the hot chocolate a good stir.
Step 3
Serve with some squirty cream, marshmallow and even shred some more Lindt chocolate on top. ENJOY!
