What can I use instead of peanut butter in Rice Krispie bars?

If you’re looking for an alternative to peanut butter in Rice Krispie bars, there are plenty of options to suit dietary needs and flavour preferences. You can use almond butter, cashew butter, or sunflower seed butter as nut-free substitutes. For a sweeter twist, try chocolate hazelnut spread or cookie butter. If you’re avoiding nut or seed butters altogether, melted marshmallows or a mix of honey and butter can act as the binding agent. These alternatives ensure your no bake Rice Krispie bars stay cohesive and delicious, while catering to different tastes and dietary restrictions.

How can I customise Rice Krispie bars?

Feel free to customise to your liking by adding some mini marshmallows, chopped nuts, or dried fruit to create unique textures and flavours. You can also swap out part of the cereal for granola or puffed grains to add variety. Customising these no bake treats makes them perfect for any occasion, from kids’ parties to post-workout snacks.

Can I use a different kind of cereal instead of Rice Krispies?

Absolutely! Feel free to use any cereal like Cheerios, Shredded Wheat or Cornflakes for an extra crunch.

Can I add protein powder to Rice Krispie bars?

Yes, you can add protein powder to Rice Krispie bars to boost their nutritional value. Simply mix your favorite protein powder into the melted chocolate/peanut butter mix then combine with the cereal. For the best results, use a vanilla or chocolate-flavored protein powder to complement the sweetness of the bars. Be sure not to add too much powder, as it can affect the texture and make the bars too dry.
