Can I use this chicken mince recipe for meal prep?
Yes – this recipe is perfect for meal prep. Cooked chicken mince can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 2–3 days. Keep noodles, rice, or vegetables separate until ready to eat to maintain freshness.
What can I serve with honey sriracha chicken mince for dinner?
This chicken mince is versatile. Serve it with cooked noodles, steamed rice, or stir-fried vegetables for a quick and satisfying dinner idea. It also works well in lettuce wraps or as a filling for wraps and sandwiches.
Can I make this recipe less spicy?
Yes – adjust the amount of sriracha to suit your taste. You can also add more honey to balance the heat while keeping the sticky, flavour-packed coating.
Can I use frozen chicken mince?
Yes – just make sure it is fully defrosted before cooking. Pat it dry with kitchen paper to avoid excess moisture, which can prevent it from crisping up in the air fryer.
Can I cook this chicken mince on the hob instead of an air fryer?
Absolutely – cook the chicken in a non-stick frying pan with a little oil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently. Add the honey, sriracha, and soy sauce once the chicken is browned, then cook until it is sticky and slightly crispy.
Is this a healthy dinner idea?
Yes – chicken mince is high in protein and low in fat, and this recipe uses minimal oil while packing in flavour. Pair it with vegetables or noodles for a balanced, nutritious meal.
Method
Step 1
First, preheat the air fryer to 200°C (180°C fan / 390°F) for three to five minutes. While it is heating, prepare the chicken mince by adding one teaspoon of olive oil, 500 grams of chicken mince, and a crushed garlic clove to the air fryer tray. Mix everything well so the garlic is evenly distributed.
Step 2
Cook the chicken mince in the air fryer on high for 3–4 minutes, then stir in the honey, sriracha, and soy sauce. Return to the air fryer and cook for 7–8 minutes, stirring halfway, until golden, cooked through, and slightly crispy.
Step 3
Once the chicken is cooked, stir in one teaspoon of sesame oil and six finely sliced spring onions. Serve the honey sriracha fried chicken mince on its own, or with cooked noodles, rice, and vegetables if you prefer.
