Grilled Bacon Wrapped Shrimp
These are so incredibly moreish, the saltiness from the bacon combined with the tangy mayo is a match made in heaven. Perfect for having as little canapes or a starter, but trust me when I say they won’t be on your table for long.

Can I make bacon wrapped prawns in the air fryer instead of a griddle?
Bacon wrapped prawns cook beautifully in the air fryer. Simply place them in a single layer in your air fryer basket and cook at 200°C (400°F) for 8–10 minutes, turning once halfway. The air fryer makes the bacon extra crisp while keeping the prawns juicy.
Are prawns good for meal prep?
Prawns are a great option for quick meal prep because they cook in minutes and are high in protein. You can prep these bacon wrapped prawns ahead of time, store them uncooked in the fridge, and then cook them just before serving. For best results, don’t cook them too far in advance as prawns taste best fresh.
Can I reheat bacon wrapped prawns in the air fryer?
Yes, you can reheat them in the air fryer. Cook at 180°C (350°F) for 3–4 minutes until warmed through. This keeps the bacon crispy without drying out the prawns.
What dips go well with bacon wrapped prawns?
A lemony mayo is the classic choice, but they also taste great with garlic aioli, sweet chilli sauce, or a yoghurt-based dip for something lighter. These dips also work well for meal prep if stored separately.
Are bacon wrapped prawns a healthy snack?
They can be a healthier alternative to deep-fried starters or snacks. Prawns are lean and high in protein, and when cooked in the air fryer instead of frying in oil, you keep the fat content lower while still getting that crisp bacon texture.
Can I serve bacon wrapped prawns as part of air fryer snacks at a party?
Absolutely. They’re one of the best air fryer snacks for parties or gatherings. You can make a big batch quickly in the air fryer, and they pair well with other easy air fryer appetisers like chicken wings or veggie bites.
