Can you cook tofu in an air fryer?
Cooking tofu in an air fryer is one of the easiest ways to get it perfectly crispy without using much oil. Just press the tofu to remove excess water, season it well, and air fry at 180°C for 12–15 minutes, shaking halfway.
What’s the best way to make tofu crispy in an air fryer?
For extra crispy tofu:
- Press the tofu for at least 10 minutes to remove water.
- Toss in a little oil and seasoning or a cornstarch coating.
- Air fry in a single layer for even cooking.

Method
Step 1
Drain, dry and cube the tofu.
Step 2
Mix together all the wet and dry ingredients, excluding the veg, honey and tofu.
Step 3
Toss the peppers and onions in half of the sauce mixture and add to the bottom of the air fryer basket.
Step 4
Once you have prepared the veg, add in 2 tbsp honey to the remaining sauce for the tofu. Coat the tofu in the remaining half of the sauce with the addition of the honey.
Step 5
Add the tofu on top of the veg and air fry for 13 minutes at 200°C.
Step 6
Whilst that is cooking, boil your lime and coriander rice then layer it up with all your favourite burrito bowl bits.

500g Tofu drained and dried
1 tbsp oil
2 tbsp chipotle paste
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp paprika
1 red pepper sliced
1 yellow pepper sliced
1 red onion sliced
1 tsp cumin
2 tbsp tomato puree

Lime and coriander rice
Chunky tomato salsa
Guacamole
Sour cream
Pinched of grated cheddar
