What is Air Fryer Sliced Chicken Supper?

Air Fryer Sliced Chicken Supper is a quick and easy fakeaway-style meal made with juicy sliced chicken cooked perfectly in the air fryer. It’s ideal for a healthy midweek supper when you want something tasty but lighter than a traditional takeaway. Everything cooks in one basket – meaning less fuss, less oil, and more flavour.

How do you cook sliced chicken in the air fryer?

To cook sliced chicken in the air fryer, simply season your chicken breast or thighs, add a light spray of oil, and air fry at 180°C for around 10–12 minutes, turning halfway. It’s a fast, healthy way to prepare a chicken supper without needing to fry or grill. You’ll get that golden, crispy finish typical of a fakeaway – but with fewer calories.

How long does it take to make Air Fryer Sliced Chicken Supper?

This air fryer chicken supper takes under 20 minutes from start to finish. Just prep your chicken and veggies, toss in your favourite fakeaway-style sauce, and air fry until cooked through. It’s perfect for busy evenings when you still want a proper homemade meal.

What can I serve with Air Fryer Sliced Chicken Supper?

You can serve your sliced chicken supper with rice, noodles, chips, or a simple salad — whatever fits your fakeaway craving. Try it with air fryer chips for a healthier twist or wrap it in flatbreads for a lighter fakeaway-style wrap.

Is this recipe a healthy fakeaway?

Air fryer chicken suppers are one of the healthiest fakeaway options you can make at home. Using the air fryer means you use up to 90% less oil than deep frying, while still getting crispy, tender results. It’s a great option if you’re watching calories but still want big flavour.

Can I reheat sliced chicken in the air fryer?

Pop your leftover sliced chicken in the air fryer at 180°C for 3–4 minutes to reheat. It’ll come out hot and crispy again — perfect for a next-day fakeaway-style lunch or supper.

Can I use pre-cooked or frozen chicken?

If using pre-cooked chicken, just reheat it in the air fryer until piping hot. For frozen sliced chicken, cook straight from frozen at 180°C for 15–18 minutes, shaking halfway through. It’s a great way to make a quick, no-fuss fakeaway supper.

Method

Step 1

Peel and slice your potatoes then add to a bowl with some boiling water and salt, and add to the microwave for 7 minutes. When the potatoes are ready, drain and pat dry.

Step 2

To a bowl, add your chicken breasts with 1 tbsp curry powder and give that a good mix until fully coated.

Step 3

Add the chips to the air fryer basket with some oil spray and cook for 22-25 minutes at 200 and cook the chicken breast for 18 minutes at 190.

Step 4

While that is cooking, prepare your rice. Simply add one beaten egg to a pan over medium heat and gently give that a mix making sure it doesn’t burn. Add your microwave rice to the pan, with your soy sauce and leave to simmer.

Step 5

Decide between your gravy or curry paste and add 1 tbsp of paste with 400ml boiling water and leave to cook on the hob over medium heat. Add your frozen peas here too.

Step 6

When everything is ready, add your chips, rice and chicken to a plate and top with your choice of sauce and enjoy.
