Get ready to impress your guests this Halloween with this Air Fryer Camembert wrapped in puff pastry, designed to look just like a pumpkin! Whether you’re hosting a gathering or simply looking for a delicious snack, this air fryer camembert is sure to be the star of the show.
Can I air fry a whole Camembert?
Camembert works beautifully in the air fryer. It becomes gooey and perfectly melted in the centre, ideal for dipping. Just make sure to score the top or cut a cross before cooking to prevent the rind from bursting.
How long does it take to cook Camembert in the air fryer?
Typically, it takes 10–12 minutes at 180°C. Keep an eye on it during the last couple of minutes so it doesn’t overcook or split.
How do I make it look like a pumpkin?
To give it a festive pumpkin look, wrap the Camembert in puff pastry and tie with butcher’s string to shape it into a pumpkin before air frying. You can even add a cinnamon stick or pecan as a ‘stalk’ for decoration.
Is this a good Halloween party recipe?
Absolutely – it’s a perfect savoury Halloween centrepiece. Serve it warm with crusty bread, vegetable sticks or crackers for dipping. A real showstopper!
Can I prep this ahead of time?
Yes – assemble the pastry-wrapped Camembert in advance and refrigerate. Just pop it in the air fryer when you’re ready to cook and serve.
What pastry should I use?
Ready-rolled puff pastry is ideal. It gets golden, crisp, and holds the shape nicely in the air fryer.
Can I add flavours inside the Camembert?
Definitely! Try stuffing with garlic, rosemary, a drizzle of honey, or even cranberry sauce for a festive twist.
Do I need to preheat the air fryer?
For best results, yes – preheat your air fryer for a few minutes to ensure the pastry cooks evenly and turns golden.
@boredoflunch Air Fryer Camembert Pumpkin 🎃 Melted cheese inside puff pastry with crackers and chutney, what’s not to love. This is inspired by the mega talented @amysheppardfood and it’s definitely one you’ll make time and time again, especially when hosting. Ingredients: Camembert wheel – 4-5 slices of prosciutto – 1 sheet puff pastry – 2 tbsp chutney (your choice) – 1 beaten egg – Sprig of rosemary – Your favourite crackers (for dipping) Method: 1. Open your camembert wheel and wrap in slices of prosciutto, making sure it’s fully covered. 2. Roll out your puff pastry and cut the edges off. Place some chutney in the middle of the puff pastry and set your wrapped camembert on top. Add another tablespoon of chutney on top, then wrap the camembert in the pastry. 3. To create the pumpkin shape, I used four pieces of string tied at the bottom, which slightly indented the pastry 4. Once done, brush some beaten egg over the pastry then air fry for 20 minutes at 190.
