Air Fryer Peri Peri Potatoes are a delicious and spicy side dish that combines crispy potatoes with the vibrant flavours of peri peri seasoning. The perfect side dish or a great if having friends over for tapas, or what I call ‘picky bits’.

Air fryers offer a healthier alternative to traditional deep-frying, using minimal oil while still achieving a crispy exterior. They cook potatoes quickly and evenly, ensuring a perfect texture every time. Plus, they’re easy to clean and use less energy than a conventional oven.

 

 

 

Tips for Perfectly Crispy Potatoes

 

 

Choose starchy potatoes like Maris Piper or King Edward for the best results. Cut them into uniform sizes to ensure even cooking. Pat the potatoes dry before seasoning to help them crisp up. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket, as this can prevent proper air circulation.

 

 

 

What Pairs Well with Peri Peri Potatoes?

 

 

These potatoes are versatile and pair wonderfully with grilled meats, fish, or as a standalone side dish. Serve with a cooling dip like garlic mayo or a fresh herb yoghurt sauce to balance the spicy peri peri flavour.

Method

Step 1

Dice your baby potatoes into halves and pop into a large bowl. Add a drizzle of olive oil along with 1/2 packet of the Nando’s PERi-PERi rub.

Step 2

Make sure the potatoes are evenly coated, then air fry for 22 minutes at 20o.

Step 3

At 20 minutes, pop your diced chorizo into the air fryer basket with the potatoes and give it a quick mix. Cook for the last 2 minutes and serve.

Step 4

750g baby potatoes

75g diced chorizo

1-2 tbsp olive oil

1 packet of Nando’s PERi-PERi rub

@‌nandosuk sweet chilli jam to serve
