Can you cook baked potatoes in the air fryer?

Yes, you can cook baked potatoes in the air fryer and they turn out perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It’s quicker than the oven and uses less energy. Just rub the potatoes with a little oil and salt, then air fry until tender.

How long does it take to cook a baked potato in the air fryer?

A medium baked potato takes about 45-50 minutes at 200°C in the air fryer. Time may vary depending on size, so check by piercing with a knife—it should slide in easily when done.

What is an air fryer lasagne baked potato?

An air fryer lasagne baked potato is a baked potato filled with a rich lasagne-style beef mixture and topped with cheese. It’s like lasagne in a jacket potato—comforting, hearty, and perfect for a twist on traditional lasagne.

Can I make lasagne filling in advance?

Yes, you can make the lasagne-style beef filling ahead of time and keep it in the fridge for up to 3 days. Just reheat and spoon it into the baked potatoes when you’re ready to serve. You can check out my slow cooker bolognese recipe here.

What kind of cheese should I use for lasagne baked potatoes?

Mozzarella and grated cheddar work really well for lasagne baked potatoes. You can also add a spoon of white sauce or ricotta for that classic lasagne flavour.

Are air fryer baked potatoes healthier?

Air fryer baked potatoes can be a healthier option because they need less oil than oven-roasted potatoes. You still get the crisp skin without deep frying or too much fat.

Method

Step 1

Microwave the baked potato for 10 minutes to soften.

Step 2

Rub with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, wrap in foil, and air fry at 200°C for 50 minutes.

Step 3

Remove the foil and air fry for another 10 minutes to crisp up the skin.

Step 4

While the potato finishes cooking, heat your Bolognese mix.

Step 5

Cut open the potato, add a knob of butter, and mash it slightly inside the skin.

Step 6

Sprinkle over some cheddar, then layer on the Bolognese, béchamel, and more cheese.

Step 7

Pop it under the grill for 4–5 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly. Finish with a sprinkle of fresh chives and enjoy 🙂
