Can you put a tuna wrap in the air fryer?
Yes, air frying a tuna wrap gives it a lovely crispy texture on the outside while keeping the filling warm and flavourful. It’s a quick and easy way to toast wraps without needing a pan or oven.
What’s the best tuna to use for a tuna wrap?
Tinned tuna in spring water or olive oil works best for wraps. It’s lean, full of protein, and holds its texture well when mixed with ingredients like harissa or yoghurt.
Can I use fresh tuna instead of tinned?
You can, but tinned tuna is more convenient and budget-friendly. If using fresh tuna, make sure it’s fully cooked before adding it to the wrap.
What is harissa and where can I buy it?
Harissa is a North African chilli paste made with roasted red peppers, garlic, and spices. You’ll find it in most UK supermarkets in the world foods or spice aisle.
Is this tuna wrap recipe healthy?
Yes, this air fryer tuna wrap is high in protein and lower in fat compared to deep-fried or takeaway options. Using light wraps and low-fat yoghurt keeps it balanced and nutritious.
How long does it take to air fry a tuna wrap?
Typically, it takes about 6–8 minutes in the air fryer at 180°C, depending on your model. Just long enough to get it golden and crisp without overcooking the filling.
Can I make this tuna wrap ahead of time?
You can prep the tuna filling in advance and store it in the fridge for up to two days. Assemble and air fry the wrap fresh for best results.
What can I serve with a tuna wrap?
Pair it with a side salad, air fryer chips, or roasted veg for a quick and balanced lunch or light dinner.
Can I make this recipe gluten-free?
Absolutely – just use a gluten-free wrap and double-check the harissa paste and tinned tuna ingredients for any hidden gluten.
