Who doesn’t love halloumi. With only three ingredients, these air fryer halloumi potato tots (hashbrown bites) are super easy to make and taste amazing. I served them with some hot honey, but you could also dip them into chilli jam for a nice kick. What’s the best way to cook halloumi potato tots in the air fryer?

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (fan). Cook the halloumi potato tots for 10-12 minutes, shaking halfway through, until they’re golden and crispy.

Can I make these halloumi potato tots ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the mixture in advance and shape the tots just before air frying. Cooked tots can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheated in the air fryer for a crispy finish.

Are these halloumi potato tots gluten-free?

They can be, depending on the ingredients you use. Check your halloumi and any added seasonings or coatings to ensure they are gluten-free.

Can I freeze the halloumi potato tots?

Yes, freeze uncooked tots on a baking tray, then transfer to a freezer bag. Cook from frozen in the air fryer, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.

How do halloumi potato tots differ from regular hashbrown bites?

These tots combine crispy potato with salty, chewy halloumi for extra flavour and texture, making them a delicious twist on traditional hashbrown bites.

What dips go well with halloumi potato tots?

They’re great with garlic mayo, sweet chilli sauce, or a tangy yoghurt dip.

Can I add herbs or spices to the potato tots?

Definitely! Fresh herbs like parsley or chives, and spices such as smoked paprika or black pepper, work brilliantly to boost flavour.

Air Fryer Crispy Halloumi & Potato Tots 🥔 🧀 (Serves 2 – 468 calories)   I never get bored of eating halloumi but added to potatoes to make these hash brown balls, unreal! I served them with some hot honey, but you could also dip them into chilli jam for a nice kick.    Ingredients:  300g potatoes  100g halloumi  30g cornflour  Olive oil   Hot honey or chilli jam to serve (optional)    Method:  1. Boil the potatoes whole, skin on for 10 minutes so they are softish.   2. Once fork tender, drain the potatoes and leave them to cool. Then grate them using the coarse side of a grater. Likewise, grate the halloumi.    3. To a bowl, add the grated halloumi, potatoes, cornflour and season to taste (I used salt and pepper but you can use whatever spices you like). Mix well with your hands until all the ingredients are well combined.    4. Make balls with the palms of your hands. Transfer to your air fryer and brush some olive oil or rapeseed oil over each hash brown bite.    5. Air fry the halloumi hashbrown bites for approximately 12-15 minutes at 200 or until nice and golden. Serve with some hot honey or chilli jam and get stuck in.    #airfryer #airfryermeals #meals #airfryerrecipe #airfryerrecipes #recipe #recipes #halloumi #hashbrown #hashbrowns #halloumibites #halloumirecipe #halloumirecipes #viral #viralrecipes #trending #food #foodie #potato #potatoes #tiktok #fyp #foryou

Method

Step 1

Place the potatoes (skin on) in a pot of boiling water. Let them cook for about 10 minutes to soften them slightly. They should be tender enough to poke with a fork but not too soft, as they need to stay firm for grating later.

Step 2

Once fork tender, drain the potatoes and leave them to cool. Then grate them using the coarse side of a grater. Likewise, grate the halloumi.

Step 3

To a bowl, add the grated halloumi, potatoes, cornflour and season to taste (I used salt and pepper but you can use whatever spices you like). Mix well with your hands until all the ingredients are well combined.

Step 4

Make balls of approximately 30g by rolling the mix with the palms of your hands. Transfer to your air fryer and brush some olive oil or rapeseed oil over each hash brown bite.

Step 5

Air fry the halloumi hashbrown bites for approximately 12 minutes at 180 or until nice and golden.

Step 6

Serve with some hot honey or chilli jam and get stuck in.

Ingredients

300g potatoes

100g halloumi

30g cornflour

Olive oil

Hot honey or chilli jam to serve (optional)
