Air Fryer Festive Cheese Dip
- Category: Popular |
If you are hosting this Christmas, you need to try this festive cheese dip. It’s messy but so so tasty.
COOKING TIME
12 mins
DIFFICULTY
simple
Can you make a cheese dip in the air fryer?
Yes! The air fryer is perfect for baking soft cheeses like Brie and Camembert. It heats quickly and cooks evenly, giving you a gooey, molten centre in under 10 minutes.
How long does Brie or Camembert take to melt in the air fryer?
Most wheels of Camembert or blocks of Brie take 8–10 minutes at 180°C. Every air fryer is slightly different, so keep an eye on it from the 7-minute mark.
Should I remove the rind before air frying?
No. Leave the rind on — it helps keep the cheese intact while melting. You can score the top with a knife to help it soften faster and let the honey and chilli flakes sink in.
Can I use just one cheese instead of both?
Absolutely. This recipe works with Brie, Camembert, or a mix. Using both gives extra creaminess and richer flavour, but you can use whichever you prefer.
Can I add toppings to the cheese before cooking?
Yes! Honey and chilli flakes work brilliantly, but you can also add:
- Garlic
- Thyme or rosemary
- Fig jam
- Cranberry sauce
What should I serve the festive cheese dip with?
Crackers, crusty bread, sourdough, breadsticks, garlic baguette, or even roasted vegetables. Italian meats like prosciutto and salami also pair perfectly with the creamy, sweet–spicy cheese.
Can I make this ahead of time?
You can prep the cheeses earlier (score them, add honey, toppings etc.) and keep them covered in the fridge. When you’re ready, just pop them straight into the air fryer.
Can I reheat leftover baked Brie or Camembert?
Yes — reheat in the air fryer at 160°C for 3–4 minutes until gooey again. Keep in mind it won’t be quite as firm the second time around.
Can I make this dip vegetarian?
Yes – simply leave off the Italian meats and serve with bread and crackers instead.
Do I need to put the cheese in a dish in the air fryer?
Ideally, yes. Use:
- A small oven-safe ramekin
- A mini baking tray
- Or place the cheese on a small piece of baking paper
