Why make this dish?

Making crispy Beijing beef in an air fryer is a smart choice for several reasons. First, it’s significantly cheaper than ordering a takeaway, saving you money while satisfying your craving for delicious Asian cuisine. Additionally, using an air fryer is more energy-efficient compared to traditional frying methods, reducing your environmental footprint without compromising on taste or texture. With an air fryer, you can enjoy crispy Beijing beef that’s not only affordable but also prepared with efficiency in mind, making it a win-win for your wallet and the planet.

Method

Step 1

Coat the beef strips in cornflour. For ease, I pop the beef strips into a freezer bag or Tupperware along with the cornflour and give it a good shake to ensure the meat is evenly coated.

Step 2

Spray well and air fry the beef at 200º (390ºF) for 10-14 minutes, depending on how crispy you like it.

Step 3

Soften the onion and sugar snaps briefly, before adding the vegetables to the slow cooker with the beef and sauce. Top with chilli if you like a bit of spice. Serve, and enjoy!
