Are these chilli beef noodles healthy?
Yes – these 10 minute chilli beef noodles are a healthier Chinese fakeaway made at home. They’re packed with protein from the beef, cooked quickly, and use simple ingredients so you still get big flavour without the heaviness of a takeaway.
Why are these called a fakeaway?
A fakeaway is a homemade version of a takeaway favourite. These beef noodles taste like sticky chilli beef you’d order from a Chinese, but they’re quicker, lighter, and made with ingredients you control – perfect for a midweek healthy fakeaway.
How long do chilli beef noodles really take to make?
From start to finish, this recipe takes just 10 minutes, making it faster than ordering a takeaway. That’s why it’s one of my go-to fakeaway noodle recipes for busy evenings.
Do these beef noodles taste like a Chinese takeaway?
Honestly – yes. These sticky chilli beef noodles smell and taste like you’ve just picked up a Chinese. The difference is you’re making them at home, in minutes, and turning a takeaway favourite into a healthy Chinese fakeaway.
Can I make these chilli beef noodles higher in protein?
They’re already high in protein thanks to the beef, but you can easily boost it further by increasing the beef or adding extra lean protein. It’s one of the reasons this fakeaway beef noodle recipe is so popular.
Are these noodles good for meal prep?
These beef noodles are best enjoyed fresh, but they can be prepped ahead by slicing the beef and mixing the sauce in advance. When you’re ready, it still takes just minutes to cook – perfect for a quick fakeaway dinner.
What makes this a healthier Chinese fakeaway?
Unlike a takeaway, this recipe is cooked quickly at home, avoids heavy oils, and focuses on flavour rather than excess calories. That’s what makes these chilli beef noodles a proper healthy fakeaway without compromising on taste.

Method
Step 1
Add your sesame oil to the pan and let that heat up – add your mince and give it a nice stir and leave it to cook for 3-4 minutes until nice and browned.
Step 2
Once the mince is browned, add your spring onions, garlic, ginger, dark soy sauce and your bean sprouts. Leave to cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Step 3
Add your cooked egg noodles to the pan with your sauce and give it all a good mix. Let the noodles and the sauce heat up and when you’re happy serve, add to a bowl and get stuck in. Enjoy 😊
